Is your landscape facing more problems than you expected?

A major trend that is currently plaguing Texas and several other States is something you should monitor very closely. There is a massive increase of home and business owners losing their beautiful landscapes to the extreme weather that we’ve never before experienced at this magnitude. It is becoming increasingly more difficult to have both successful and beautiful landscapes and gardens, to such a degree that people across the board are turning away from their contemporary and high maintenance gardens, to more native, drought tolerant and hardy landscapes that require little to no maintenance.

Pansies that have been frozen over by the increasingly bad weather in Texas.

Native plants are crucial to the health of the local ecosystem. We typically do not experience such extreme weather conditions on a consistent basis, but unfortunately that is beginning to change, and that means we need to change with it.

Picking the right plants may not be enough anymore, but it’s the foundation to a successful start. Even though you selected a strong batch of winning genetics to put in your garden, sometimes you are still left with a messy landscape and forced to replace trees and shrubs every year we experience these brutal weather conditions, but only IF you are unprepared for the now inevitable.

With the amount of knowledge and experience that is available, there is no excuse to leave garden lovers unprepared for these potential threats going forward. The company you choose to do your landscaping should leave you fully equipped to take on the difficult road that now lies ahead: which is to keep your newly installed garden of your dreams both healthy and stress free.

That is what separates us from the rest. When you choose to hire us, you’re not just hiring a company that solely focuses on design, you’re hiring a company that takes EVERYTHING into consideration: Your health, your family’s health, your pet’s health, the health of the new and old plants, and last but not least, the health of the environment and ecosystem that surrounds us for generations to come. Sustainability and safety is the root of everything we do here, and we want our plants to last it’s full lifespan.

Cole Outlaw Alder
Founder of Designs of Eden, LLC

Cole Alder has over a decade worth of experience in the nursery and landscaping industry, spending a lot of time learning the ins-and-outs from studying landscape design, horticulture, botany, organic agriculture, permaculture and environmental sustainability while working with well renowned mentors and established experts. Through this knowledge and love of plants, along with the obsession over the beauty of nature and the several connections he has made- Cole has built a rapidly growing landscape design and installation business from complete scratch.

Designs of Eden was created with the vision to bring homeowner’s dreams to life through high quality craftsmanship, sustainability, and as natural and organic as possible. A vast majority of the landscapers in DFW don’t focus on the impact their products have on the environment, let alone the health of those that inhabit the properties they are using them on. On top of that, most landscapers are not knowledgeable on all the different plants, native or not, that do well in our local zones. This is where Designs of Eden comes in to fill in these voids. Cole specializes in Texas Native, low-maintenance, drought tolerant plant selections that give you a massive spectrum of different themes and styles you can incorporate them into. He also is a master of organic home gardening and sustainability.
